Before you begin

Have these ready
  • You have an active Shopify store with admin access.
  • You have an active NMI merchant account with API access enabled.
  • The Shopify App service has been enabled on your NMI merchant account.

If you are working with our team or a partner reseller:

Enabling the Shopify service

Partners can enable this by logging into the NMI Partner Portal → List Accounts → [Select Merchant] → Value-Added Services → Update Services → Enable Shopify → Submit. Once enabled, you’ll see the Shopify option in your Merchant Portal.

Navigate to the Shopify App in NMI

    Log in to your NMI Merchant Portal: secure.networkmerchants.com

  2. 2

    In the left-hand menu, click Marketplace Apps → App Store.

  3. 3

    Locate Shopify and click the Install button.

Installation

Install the Shopify App

  1. 1

    Click Install next to the Shopify app listing.

  2. 2

    You’ll be redirected to the Shopify App installation page (you’ll see “Safe Web Services” listed as the app developer).

  3. 3

    Click Install App.

  4. 4

    A pop-up will appear asking for access to view and edit store data and view personal data. This access is required for secure order synchronization.

    Click Install.

    You’ll be redirected back to the NMI Merchant Portal login page.

    Log in using your NMI credentials.

  8. 8

    A “Pending Setup” confirmation page will appear — review the details, then click Confirm.

    You’ll be redirected back to Shopify to confirm the store connection.

  10. 10

    Click Activate at the bottom to complete installation.

That’s it

The NMI app is now connected to your Shopify store. You can verify installation in NMI → Marketplace Apps → Shopify, where you’ll see a “Created On” date and active status.

Test and go live

  1. 1

    Run a small test transaction (e.g. $1.00) through your live Shopify storefront.

  2. 2

    Confirm it appears as a successful payment in Shopify → Orders.

  3. 3

    Log in to your NMI Merchant Portal → Transactions and verify the same order is listed.

  4. 4

    Once verified, you are live and ready to accept customer payments.
